A New Blog for Indian Institutes of Technology Graduates

 Hello All 

Recently a few senior professors and students got together for a voluntary effort of creating a unique ID for all IITians. 

Soon this author realized that we need a blog too. It shall help us to include your ideas as our project progresses. Having blogged on blogger for over twenty years, this senior professor is most familiar with their methods. So here goes.

The booklet  

There is an advantage for those who get their ID as soon as possible, their ID shall start with 0 or 1 as described in the booklet . It will make you appear at top of database rather than down thevlist that shall grow into hundreds of thousands in years to come. Form 2024 september onwards, it will be back to ordinary numbers eg if you have graduated in 1960 then your first four digits shall be 1960 , if in year 2010 then that will be the four digits  

some exceptions are made for administrators with 00 for first two digits so with perhaps more zeros so thT they appear at top of database organized in ascending order on excel or othe spreadsheet programs

DOWNLOAD AND PRINT YOUR CARD 

Our project has begun recently and we have no infrastructure developed. However, until we begin issuing slick plastic cards along with a set of printed, please manage with one you can print yourself on the blank template here 

there are just three pieces of info on the card  Your name as on official IIT records, your 16 digit number and your signature. please copy the image here, fill up and print yourself  With that number anyone can open database and learn more abou you , that in coming months shall have many copies.  The database shall not have info like phone, address etc, info that could be used to bug or harass you , but other things already public and an email ID to contact. Just used some digital techniques to create the first design.
